## Home Pulse (AI Health Score)

Home Pulse is HomeVue's headline feature. It calculates a score from 0–100 for your home, updated continuously as you add items, take photos, share with family, and complete quizzes.

Score tiers:
- 0–39: Fresh Start — "Great job starting your organization journey."
- 40–59: Taking Shape — "Good progress — keep the momentum going."
- 60–79: Well-Kept — "Great job keeping your home organized."
- 80–100: Model Home — "Your home is exceptionally organized."

Home Pulse is measured across four pillars:
1. Organization — Are items placed correctly? Based on AI photo analysis, placement quality, and clutter detection.
2. Tracking — How thoroughly is your home documented? Items, locations, zones, photos, and recent activity.
3. Sharing — How well does your household collaborate? Based on shared collections and family activity.
4. Knowledge — How well do you know where things are? Based on your Knowledge Quiz performance.

The Vue tab shows score history over time, active alerts broken into Warnings (act now) and Insights (suggestions), and tap-to-fix actions for every alert.


## Vue: Problem Detection

Vue continuously scans your inventory and surfaces problems in two tiers:

Warning alerts (act now):
- Misplaced: Items stored away from similar items in your home
- Incomplete: Items missing a location
- Declutter: Zones with too many mixed categories
- Duplicates: Items that may be the same thing

Insight alerts (smart suggestions):
- Not Seen Recently: Items not checked or updated in a while
- Add a Photo: Items without a photo
- Share with Family: Items that would benefit from being in a shared collection

Tapping any alert provides AI-suggested fixes, archive options, or quick edits.


## Adding Items

HomeVue supports four ways to add items:

1. Photo Bulk Add (AI): Point camera at any drawer, shelf, or box. Google Vertex AI detects up to 30 items per photo (limit: 20 photos/day). Items are suggested with AI-recommended locations based on how your home is organized.

2. Voice: Speak naturally to add multiple items at once. No typing required.

3. Curated List: Browse thousands of common household items pre-organized by category. Tap to add with suggested locations pre-filled.

4. Manual: Type item name, description, location, and optionally add a photo.

After adding items via photo, the Organization Score bar animates to reflect the updated score.


## AI Search

Search naturally using everyday language. Type "camping trip" and find your flashlight, tent, and sleeping bags even if they were saved under different names. The AI understands intent, not just keywords.

On supported devices: powered by Apple Intelligence (Apple NaturalLanguage framework with on-device semantic understanding).
On older devices: smart text search with fuzzy matching.

Supported devices for Apple Intelligence: iPhone 15 Pro or later, or iPad with M1 chip or later, running iOS 18+.

Note: Results may be inaccurate. AI search is best-effort.


## Siri Integration

HomeVue works with Siri on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and HomePod (HomePod requires Personal Requests enabled in the Home app).

Example Siri commands:
- "Hey Siri, Ask HomeVue where is my passport?" → returns item location
- "Hey Siri, Ask HomeVue where should I put my birth certificate?" → AI reasoning chain: categorizes item, identifies best zone, suggests specific location
- "Hey Siri, Ask HomeVue what is in the Garage?" → lists items in that location
- "Hey Siri, Ask HomeVue what is in my Holiday Decor collection?"

The "where should I put?" command is a two-step Siri interaction that uses AI to reason about category, zone, and suggested placement.


## Family Sharing

Share collections with family members via Apple's CloudKit sharing infrastructure. Sharing features:
- Any household member can add, edit, and find items in shared collections
- Activity notifications: "Mom updated location for Candles in Holiday Decor"
- Share items and alerts via iMessage directly from the app
- Revoke access to any shared collection at any time
- Private collections remain entirely private — family only sees what you explicitly share
- Works for both families and solo users (private collections only)


## Calendar Integration

HomeVue reads your device calendar and suggests items you might need for upcoming events. Example: a "Trip to England" event triggers suggestions for passport, suitcase, travel adapter, and other relevant items stored in your inventory.

This feature is powered by Apple Intelligence on supported devices. It requires calendar access permission.

## Privacy

HomeVue is privacy-first:
- All item data is stored in the user's personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit
- A2MZ never sees, accesses, or stores user item data
- Photos used for AI detection are processed in memory and immediately deleted — never retained
- No ads in HomeVue. Ever.
- Analytics: TelemetryDeck (anonymized, no personal data, no content)
- Users can opt out of analytics in Settings
- Face ID / Touch ID protection available for sensitive collections
- Data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Apple iCloud encryption)

Photo processing: Google Vertex AI is used for photo bulk-add. Images are transmitted over TLS, processed in real-time, and immediately deleted. Google does not retain images or use them for model training.
